Solo Queue

Dear Player One,

I would like to propose a few rules for this blog before I start in on the rest. First, we will each post on our agreed upon days, Friday being mine and Monday being yours, without fail. This blog is intended to keep in touch a little more than just chatting a little on the phone. Not posting will result in punishment that the other sets forth. I think entries should be 1,000 words or less and posted before noon of the agreed day. If you have any additions, make note of them in your first entry. I’ll get on with my entry for this week.

It is Friday and I’m in Texas and it is very hot here. I know this probably isn’t surprising to anyone that lives in Texas, but it has been brutal on the walk to school. My first class is not particularly early but I get the feeling that it simply does not cool off during the night. A few of my classmates have experienced bug bites during their trek to school and I am hoping that my current walking path does not have that problem.

My dorm room is still empty. My furniture of late being delivered and the building arrangement for getting mail is ridiculous. The building is closed to non-residence and has no accessible office on the ground floor. The mailbox outside is only large enough for a parcel that is about the size of a shoebox. This has delayed my amazon orders (which include my lamp and proper bedding) considerably. I must be home when the mail arrives so I can run down and pick them up in person. It really is not an option to walk to the post office in the heat and make it all the way back to my room carrying a large package.

I’m glad I brought my hard drive with all of my movies and shows on it. My internet is still down in my apartment. Everything appears to be hooked up properly but the router is just not interfacing with the building internet the way it should.

I think the strangest thing this week has been my shopping trip to CVS. I brought my own shopping bags in an attempt to be a responsible adult. When I got to the counter with my items, I put my bags on the counter to start loading it up as they swiped them. I was told that they do not allow customers to do that. The cashier promptly took my purchases from me and put them in the store bags and handed them to me. I’m not sure if that is actually store policy, but I found the whole ordeal rather strange.
I will keep you up to date with my adventures here and I’ll see you at Christmas.

Your,

Player Two
